The Public Ministry of Paraná charged Jhonathan Reynaldo dos Santos, aged 24, with arrested for attempted aggravated murderafter trying to forcibly kiss and attack a receptionist at a hotel in Curitiba, on March 7th.
According to the document, the accused will answer for the crimes of femicide in the attempted form; qualified rape in the attempted form and qualified procedural fraud, after receiving the location.
The convict is currently being held in preventive custody at the Curitiba Public Prison. Prosecutor André Tiago Pasternak Glitz requests that the case be processed by the Jury Court.
In addition to the criminal conviction, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested materials from the victim.
The victim’s attorney, Dr. Jackson Bahls, called the complaint a victory for women. “The complaint is a victory for women in the fight against gender-based violence. Contrary to the police authority, which initially considered the case as a mere homicide, we managed to get the complaint to bring three crimes, feminicide, rape and procedural fraud […]”.
