Fátima Bosch, Miss Universe 2025, is faced with giving up her crown at Harvard

To Mexican Fatima Bosch25, elected Miss Universe 2025experienced a moment of tension during the Mexico Conference, an event organized by the Mexican student association at Harvard University, in the United States, on March 7.

Invited to speak about leadership and social impact, the model was confronted by an audience member, who publicly questioned the legitimacy of her title. The student asked if she was considering giving up the crown given the controversies that surrounded the contest.

The criticism was based on allegations of alleged manipulation of the Miss Universe results. According to the young woman, some of the judges had left the competition before the final because they disagreed with the selection process.

“It is public knowledge that the owner of Miss Universe, Mexican businessman Raul Rocha, is on trial for corruption and other charges.”

“He also claimed to have 70% influence in the decision of who wins the crown. Six of the eight jurors said they didn’t vote for you,” said the student, among the audience. “Why then did you decide to keep the crown rather than give it back? Can you comment on whether that really was fair?”

The intervention refers to the controversies that marked not only the weeks of competition, but also the period after the final, when statements began to circulate that part of the jury had not chosen Bosch as the winner.

The moment quickly gained repercussion on social media after videos recorded by conference participants.

When responding, the miss began with a more reflective tone. “The world can say many things, but the truth is one. If you work hard for something and someone next to you, who was unable to achieve the same position, lies to discredit your achievement, would you resign?”, he said. Before she finished, the student interrupted her to say that she wasn’t lying.

Faced with the insistence, Fátima changed the tone of her response and responded ironically: “I understand that you want to go viral on the internet. Very good.” The reaction drew applause from part of the audience, while the episode reignited the debate on the networks about the controversies surrounding Miss Universe 2025.

The student, however, insisted. “I don’t want to go viral. I just want to understand why you decided to keep an award that was clearly not given fairly”, he replied.

Fátima replied again: “I didn’t know that you worked at Miss Universe and were in confinement watching everything that happened…”. The miss added that questions of this type usually arise when women reach prominent positions, something that, according to her, rarely happens to men.

“But to answer your question: no, I will not resign. I worked hard for this crown and that’s why I won,” he concluded.
