Free program promotes trails through São Paulo parks – 03/18/2026 – É Logo Ali

That trails attract more and more people is nothing new, we talk about it here every week and the message groups are buzzing as the mountain season approaches, which starts next April. But for those who have never ventured into the forest and would like to know what it’s like, or for those who are short on time but don’t want to lose the habit of breathing the delicious, fresh air of the Atlantic forest, the São Paulo Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure has been promoting completely free tours through five municipal parks: Fazenda do Carmo, Cabeceiras do Aricanduva, Jaceguava, Itaim, Varginha and Bororé.

The longest trail in this group is Parque Itaim, 3 kilometers long, which focuses on bird watching. The shortest is Jaceguava Park, at 500 meters. The time for everyone starts at 9am at the meeting points, and ends around 11am.

Since its implementation in 2023, starting in 2024, the Vamos Trilhar project, a partnership between the secretariat and the Civil Society Organization Mundo Melhor, has already brought together 62,670 participants, with a monthly average of 2,208 people. In the first three months of this year alone, there were 9,858 walkers. Each group, with an average of 46 participants, is accompanied by 6 guides and 6 monitors who show the main attractions of the routes.

With an investment planned for this year of R$ 14,568,859, according to the secretariat, the program is open to all audiences, from children to the elderly, as they are easy trails. Each participant registered on the website https://minhasinscricoes.com.br receives a t-shirt and snack during the tour. Transportation from the scheduled meeting point for each activity is free round-trip.

Most program participants have little or no trail experience. People like administrator Ana Cláudia Martins Melo, 50, who usually attends the activities offered at CEU Cidade Dutra, in the south of São Paulo, where she lives, and who proudly says she has already been to “all the trails, except the one at Parque Fazenda do Carmo, because of the distance”.

She says she found out about the program at CEU itself, but she is already one of its biggest promoters through word of mouth. “I take people whenever I can, I’ve already gathered 15 friends into a group to go along”, he highlights, making a point of praising the work of the teams that accompany the tours.

And the initiative, apparently, sparked interest in more daring adventures. “I’ve never done a trail outside of São Paulo, it must be really cool”, he says. And what would be your dream trail, the column asked the administrator. “Ah, São Tomé das Letras would be really cool, I’ve only heard about it, but I haven’t had the chance to do it”, he sighs.
