The former president (PL) presented a favorable clinical evolution and began dental treatment, according to a bulletin released this Saturday (21) by the DF Star hospital, in Brasília.
He remains hospitalized in the hospital’s ICU (Intensive Care Unit), where he receives treatment for bilateral bacterial pneumonia. The condition originated from an episode of bronchoaspiration, according to medical information.
Despite the initial severity of the condition, the medical team reports stability and a positive response to the therapeutic measures adopted.
During his hospitalization, the former president also began dental treatment after reporting pain in the right mandibular region. The care takes place in an integrated manner with clinical monitoring, without a negative impact on the main treatment.
Bolsonaro remains on intravenous antibiotic therapy, in addition to receiving intensive clinical support. The protocol also includes respiratory and motor physiotherapy sessions, with the aim of assisting in lung recovery and maintenance of physical functions.
So far, there is no forecast for hospital discharge. The medical team continuously monitors the condition, evaluating the patient’s progress daily.
Bolsonaro was admitted to the ICU on Friday (13), due to bronchoaspiration. In addition to administering medication, he is undergoing motor and respiratory physiotherapy.
The medical team accompanying Bolsonaro in Papudinha produced a report on Thursday (12), the day before his hospitalization, stating that the former president was in a regular state of health. The report points out, however, that he had a bout of hiccups during the night.
At 6:45 am on Friday, Bolsonaro called the middle team and reported nausea and tremors during the early hours of the morning. The team then decided to immediately transfer to DF Star. The former president arrived at the hospital with nasal oxygen support and underwent tomography and laboratory tests. There, bronchopneumonia was detected.
