No more thick coats and hats, spring is taking over in full force and it looks like it won’t just give up its dominance. March is exceptionally warm in Europe, according to meteorologists. Temperatures in many places are more than three degrees above the long-term average, which makes this month an unexpected record holder. Although frosts may occur locally during the nights, the days will remain pleasantly spring-like, and the end of March will even surprise us in Central Europe with the first storms and humidity. which is needed after a dry winter, writes the portal.
However, with the arrival of April, the crazy fluctuations calm down a bit and the weather returns to the so-called climatic normal. For the common man, this means that we are expecting exactly the kind of April we have been used to for years – an alternation of sunny days, when the mercury on the thermometer jumps above 20 degrees, with colder, rainy periods.
This trend of traditional spring will be maintained during May, when they will spring showers regularly water the awakening nature. The temperatures will be neither too high nor too low, simply ideal for May walks, although the mornings at the beginning of the month can still really cool us down.
However, a real shock awaits us in June, which according to the latest calculations should become the absolute temperature jumper of the year. In his case, meteorologists speak of a significant temperature anomaly, which means nothing more than that we have to prepare for an extremely hot start to summer. June will probably spare us the first waves of tropical heat above 30 degrees.
So-called tropical nights can also torment us, when the air does not cool below 20 degrees even after sunset. With such overheated air comes the risk of strong storms from the heat, which can arise suddenly and bring lightning refreshment and unexpected showers.
Compared to the heated June, July should seem a little more balanced and return to its typical holiday character. Heat waves will come at regular intervals and will alternate with refreshing summer rain, which is absolutely natural for our Slovak summer.
Although we can look forward to more stable sunny days, meteorologists remind us that any long-term forecast for several months ahead is more of an estimation of the trend than an exact promise. Modern technology can reliably see only one week ahead, so although June seems like a hot extreme, nature can still surprise us in many ways.
