The transfer of office is scheduled for this Sunday, at 11 am, when the current vice-governor, Mateus Simões (PSD), will take office as the new head of the Minas Gerais Executive
The governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Partido Novo), filed with the Legislative Assembly the official document of his resignation from office. “Minas is back on its feet”stated the governor, highlighting that his re-election in the first round, in 2022, was the greatest symbol of popular recognition for his administrative reorganization work.
O movement marks the official beginning of his career as a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. The transfer of office is scheduled for this Sunday, at 11 am, when the current vice-governor, Mateus Simões (PSD), will take office as the new head of the Minas Gerais Executive.
Without mentioning President Lula by name, Zema stated that Brazil is going through a time of trying to “shield a group of untouchables”positioning itself as an opposition alternative in the upcoming election.
