President of the PSDB stated that he will meet with MDB leaders after meeting with former president Michel Temer
The federal deputy and national president of the PSDB, met this Friday (20th March 2026), in São Paulo, with the former president (MDB). During the meeting, the former governor of Minas stated that the party seeks to form a force in the “democratic center” as an alternative in the 2026 elections to the president (PT) and the pre-candidate for the Presidency (PL).
“I was in São Paulo today with former president Michel Temer for a long conversation about the national political situation, at a time that still demands attention and responsibility given the intensification of polarization in the country. We both agree that, 6 months before the election, the scenario is not yet fully defined. There is room for dialogue, political construction and, eventually, for the emergence of alternatives to the two poles that dominate the national debate today”said the deputy.
Aécio said that conversations between the leaders of his party and the MDB will be held in the coming weeks, including with the participation of the party’s president, the federal deputy (MDB-SP).
“We agreed to hold these conversations more assiduously in the coming weeks, including with the participation of other MDB leaders, such as President Baleia Rossi, and also the PSDB. The rapprochement between PSDB and MDB, with the objective of forming a vigorous force in the democratic center, has always been an aspiration that we share. We continue to believe that this path can be consolidated as soon as political conditions allow”said Aécio Neves.
