The Finnish capital was recently named one of the most walkable cities in the world, and now Helsinki is showing that it truly deserves this vote. With the Kruunuvuorensilta Bridge, the Finns inaugurated one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world at the end of April. According to some media, at 1,191 meters, it is the world’s longest pier for pedestrians, as it leads from the Kruunuvuorenranta district over water to the island of Korkeasaari.
