Chief Raoni is called to the stage by the creator of Lollapalooza

The indigenous leader, chief Raoni Metuktire, participated this Saturday night (21 March 2026) in São Paulo. He was invited to the stage by Perry Farrell, creator of the music festival.

The chief made an appearance before the show by Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi. The leader of the Kayapós was in a wheelchair. It delivered a message in defense of the environment and the care that new generations should have for nature. The brief speech was translated by his grandson.

Raoni was born in the early 1930s. It is believed in 1932. His date of birth is uncertain. The indigenous leader dedicates his life to defending the Amazon and has great international recognition.

From the village of Kraimopry-yaka, where he was born, the chief traveled the world asking for peace and maintains dialogue with various personalities, such as King Charles III.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The 13th edition of the Lollapalooza Brasil festival is held from March 20th to 22nd, at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in the capital of São Paulo. Artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Lorde and Tyler, the Creator are among this year’s main attractions.
