The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, confirmed that he should visit Brazil after meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva this Saturday (21), in Bogotá. The meeting took place during the Celac-Africa High Level Forum.
During the bilateral meeting, the two leaders discussed the regional agenda and made an assessment of Colombia’s presidency at the head of Celac (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States), which ends this weekend.
Lula and Petro also discussed expectations for the bloc’s next presidency, which was accepted by Uruguay during an official act that took place during the summit, and reiterated the importance of strengthening the Caribbean.
Petro’s visit to Brazil will be to participate in the “Democracy against Extremism” meeting, which will be held in Brasília, on April 18, and should bring together international leaders to discuss topics linked to democracy and the fight against political radicalization.
