One of the PSD’s main names in the Senate, Otto Alencar (BA) says it proves that there is no viable path to the third way in this election.
“To be a centrist candidate with electoral density, you have to wait for 2030. The name that is put forward has to travel throughout Brazil, and I don’t see the conditions or time at the moment for a viable project”, says Alencar, from the Lulist wing of the party.
President of the Senate Constitution and Justice Committee, he states that the governor’s gesture of giving up the electoral project reinforces his willingness to vote for the president’s re-election.
“Ratinho’s attitude is positive. I always argue that whoever takes on a four-year mandate has to complete the four years. Voters don’t really like those who start in the middle. Here in Bahia they say that the atabaques are not very favorable”, he stated.
