Minister Dias Toffoli, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), voted this Thursday (26) to block the decision of Minister André Mendonça that determined the extension of the work of the INSS Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI). Mendonça is the case’s rapporteur at the Court.
So far, the vote is 5 to 2 against extending the work.
Toffoli understood that the extension of the commission is up to Congress, and not the Supreme Court.
“How are we going to do it, force the Senate of the Republic, the National Congress, the Chamber of Deputies to deliberate something?”, he asked.
In addition to Toffoli, the other votes against extending the activities were given by Alexandre de Moraes, Flávio Dino, Cristiano Zanin and Nunes Marques.
The votes for the extension were cast by Mendonça and Luiz Fux.
