Anglo-American “Visionary Dances” in a triple pack at the State Opera


It is a celebration of Anglo-American choreography. In their new triple evening Visionary Dances State Ballet director Alessandra Ferri brings together three choreography greats from three generations at the State Opera: Twyla Tharp (84), a leading figure of postmodern dance, Justin Peck (39), one of the most sought-after contemporary choreographers in the USA, and the Briton Wayne McGregor (56), who likes to combine ballet with strong themes. All three have also choreographed for successful films. Tharp, among others, with Miloš Formans Hair and AmadeusMcGregor in Mike Newells Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Peck for Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story as well as the thriller Red Sparrow.
