Retired Military Police major, Ricardo Azevedo da Silvawas arrested red-handed this Saturday (28) after a series of brutal attacks against his wife. The victim’s report, sent to local news pages in a desperate plea for help, details moments of panic: the officer allegedly tried to strangle her and even bit the woman’s face in the presence of the couple’s daughter, a teenager just 13 years old.
“I almost died from strangulation. I need quick action so the worst doesn’t happen to me and my daughter,” the victim wrote in one of the messages. She reported that she only managed to escape her husband’s fury by locking herself in the bathroom of the residence. According to the statement, the daughter’s intervention was crucial to prevent the tragedy from becoming even greater.

The arrest took place in Vila Scarpelli. According to the police record, the major showed signs of intoxication and did not accept the approach peacefully, resisting arrest and disrespecting the police officers who responded to the incident. The case was registered in the 2nd Police District of Santo André, and Ricardo Azevedo is now responsible for domestic violence, bodily harm, insult, threat and contempt.
