The PSD will announce this Monday (30) the choice of the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, as the party’s pre-candidate for the Palácio do Planalto.
Confirmation will take place in the afternoon, during an event at the party’s national headquarters, in São Paulo. The expectation is that Caiado will speak to the press afterwards.
Caiado had the support of the majority of the party’s national leadership. The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, was the favorite of the national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab.
An internal survey carried out by the party showed that Caiado has greater support among the center-right, especially due to his speech in defense of Jair Bolsonaro.
