400 percent more salary – and there is still room for improvement

It’s a historic deal. The players in the US Women’s Basketball League (WNBA) will receive a salary increase of almost 400 percent. The average annual salary increases from $118,000 to over $580,000 per season. Numerous US media described the collective agreement as a milestone – and not just for women’s sports. After all, it is the largest salary jump ever negotiated by a sports union.
