Poland is preparing a complex war simulation of the highest state authorities. The exercise will test the coordination of the government, the president and the military in times of crisis.
In April, the highest representatives of Poland will participate in a simulation of the functioning of the state leadership in the event of the outbreak of war. According to the findings of the daily Rzeczpospolita, it will be a complex test of coordination between the political leadership and the armed forces. The Warsaw correspondent TASR informs about it.
- Poland is planning a wartime state management simulation.
- The exercises will test the cooperation of the government, parliament and the army.
- The simulation tests readiness for both crisis and war situations.
The strategic exercise is organized by the Ministry of Defense and its plan is approved by the President as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Members of the government, parliamentary representatives, the leadership of the security forces and the army command will participate in the simulation. Its script and other details are classified.
Simulations will also be practiced
The aim is to check preparedness for crisis and war situations, including decision-making processes, communication between civil and military power and the functionality of existing defense plans. Strategic simulations of various situations and staff exercises should be included, but not field maneuvers.
Preparations for the exercise are taking place at a time of heightened tension between the president’s office and the government over defense competence issues. President Karol Nawrocki recently held talks with the generals without the defense minister’s presence, which sparked political reactions.
It is expected that the results of the exercise will point to the need for further reform of the command system and a clearer division of competences between individual state bodies. Similar simulations in the past have identified deficiencies in both coordination and preparedness for hybrid threats.
