The Orion spacecraft, which left the planet this Wednesday and which has concluded in an “impeccable” way its course towards the Moonleft this Friday a visual document of planet Earth. A photograph from space that, in case there was any doubt, reflects what our home is like from the stars.
“We see our planet in its entiretyilluminated by spectacular blue and brown tones”, the four astronauts of the expedition have assured through the official NASA
The expedition will travel to the Moon, where they will make a detour around the giant rock, becoming the first manned navigation to see its hidden side. The maneuvers are the first rehearsal for the moon landing that will try to establish bases there. The plan is to reach the Moon in 2028 to begin making the first bases outside the Earth.
“Even a green aurora illuminates the atmosphere. It’s us, together, watching our astronauts’ journey to the Moon“, they continued in X’s post after having successfully completed each of the stages of the trip, which is estimated to last 10 days.
This is the first time that humans have headed to the Moon in the last 50 years. The route consists of some 400,000 kilometers to the Earth’s natural satellite and, on this occasion, four are the protagonists of the space trip.
The crew of Artemis II is made up of astronauts who represent both experience and a new stage in space exploration: Reid Wiseman, mission commander and International Space Station veteran; Victor Glover, pilot and first African American to travel to the Moon; Christina Koch, mission specialist who has already broken records for permanence in space and the first woman on a space mission of this type; and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency, who will become the first non-American to participate in a lunar mission. Four people who will write space history in the coming days.
