THIS overlooked organ is the key to longevity: It will protect you from cancer and a heart attack!

Scientists have discovered that one oft-ignored organ in our body may be the secret to longevity. New research has shown that if we take proper care of it, it can significantly increase our resistance in the fight against cancer and other deadly diseases. , experts warn against several unhealthy habits that can lead to deterioration of its function.

  • Experts have found that a child’s gland is an important organ even in adulthood.
  • If this organ is healthy, it significantly increases life expectancy and the overall resistance of the organism.
  • A healthy thyroid gland reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease.

Every organ in the human body has its irreplaceable purpose, but some of them fulfill it only for a very short time. Until recently, this is exactly what researchers thought about the thymus, which is also known as the child’s gland.

For years, it was assumed that this tiny organ located in the upper part of the chest becomes practically inactive after puberty. This belief was questioned by scientists from the American research institution Mass General Brigham, who analyzed in detail the results of two extensive studies. They clearly prove that the thymus is much more important for an adult person than previously thought.

The first study used artificial intelligence to analyze more than 27,000 medical images. Thanks to it, the team of scientists revealed that adults with a healthy thymus live longer and have a significantly better ability to fight cancer and cardiovascular diseases. It turned out that these study participants had a 63% lower risk of dying from heart problems and a 36% lower chance of developing lung cancer.

However, in addition to prevention and protection against life-threatening conditions, the children’s gland can significantly help those patients who are already fighting cancer. This was confirmed by a second study that focused on 1,200 patients undergoing immunotherapy for various types of cancer. It found that those with a healthy thymus had a 37% lower risk of disease progression and even a 44% lower chance of dying.

The researchers suggested that the results of both studies are directly related to the way this fascinating organ works. The thyroid gland plays a key role in our immune system by training T-lymphocytes to fight and destroy infections and malignant cancer cells.

Therefore, experts emphasize that proper lifestyle habits can keep this gland healthy and fully functional even in old age. Smoking, high body weight and persistent chronic inflammation are among its biggest enemies and risk factors.
