Corinthians fired coach Dorival Júnior and his coaching staff on Sunday night (5), after the 1-0 defeat to Internacional, at the Neo Química Arena.
“The club thanks the professionals for the services provided, marked by important achievements at the head of the team, such as the Copa do Brasil in 2025 and the Supercopa Rei in 2026, results that will remain in the history of the institution”, says a note about the decision.
Dorival was hired almost a year ago, on April 25, 2025, after firing Ramón Díaz and negotiating with Tite. At the time, Dorival had been fired from the Brazilian team a month ago.
Corinthians haven’t won in nine games, seven of them in the Brazilian Championship. Training this Monday (6) will be led by William Batista, under-20 coach. The club will debut in the Libertadores on Thursday (9), against Platense, in Argentina.
“Corinthians wishes them success in continuing their professional careers,” said the board in the statement about the dismissal.
