Acre’s cultural sector gains an important boost with the resumption of Regional Audiovisual Arrangements. In a joint action between the Federal Government, the Ministry of and the state was awarded R$3 million aimed at boosting local productions. The resource is the result of the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA), which this year allocates a global amount of R$630 million to the whole of Brazil.
The initiative marks the return of a decentralization strategy that had been paralyzed since 2018. The central objective is to take investment to territories far from large producing centers, ensuring that the region reaches the screens. In Acre, the funding will range from the production of short and medium-length films to technological areas, such as the creation of electronic games and animations.
Panorama Regional
In the North Region, total investment amounts to R$95 million, distributed between states and capitals. Although Acre receives a smaller volume compared to neighbors such as Pará (R$28.56 million), Amapá (R$20.7 million) and Tocantins (R$12 million), the arrival of the resource is seen as an essential step towards the professionalization of the local production chain.

In addition to film production, they must include areas such as research, professional training, memory preservation, film society activities and the development of creative centers focused on children’s content.
Economic Impact
The Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, highlighted that investment in audiovisual goes beyond art. “Audiovisual activates the economy, generates jobs and income, transforms people’s lives and opens windows for new generations”, he stated. The idea is for the sector to function as an engine of economic development and combat violence through social inclusion.
What is the FSA?
The Audiovisual Sector Fund, a pillar of this policy, is a programming category of the National Culture Fund aimed specifically at cinema and television. Created in 2006, the FSA is a reference for allowing cooperation between economic agents and expanding the infrastructure of services and exhibition halls throughout the country.
