The administration, which runs until March 2027, marks the transition from institutional planning to the technical execution of the new tax, which aims to simplify collection in the country.

Shared Governance
During the ceremony, presided over by the president of Comsefaz, Flávio César, the innovative nature of the group was highlighted. According to Amarísio Freitas, the committee represents a new era of shared management, where states and municipalities will have the same institutional weight to decide on fiscal justice.

“With the consumption tax reform, tax conflicts and competitions between states and municipalities to attract companies based on tax benefits will come to an end”, stated the secretary of Acre. According to Freitas, the new system was designed to interfere as little as possible in economic decisions, focusing on efficiency.

The work agenda continues this Wednesday (8), at the headquarters of Banco do Brasil, in the federal capital. The meeting brings together the 54 full members to advance the administrative agendas essential for structuring the committee. Acre’s active participation ensures that the state’s interests are heard during the construction of IBS’s operational mechanisms.
