As Landing and takeoff operations were suspended throughout São Paulo’s airspace on the morning of this Thursday (9) after an electrical failure, according to the Spanish concessionaire Aena.
According to the company, the interruption was communicated by the control tower and affects air movement in the region. The guideline is that other information be obtained from the Airspace Control Department (Decea), responsible for air traffic management in the country.
A GRU Airport reported that landings and takeoffs at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, are momentarily suspended. According to the concessionaire, the stoppage was caused by a general interruption in air traffic control in the São Paulo region (TMA-SP).
Aena also stated that it is adopting measures to mitigate the impacts of the strike on the Congonhas Airportone of the main terminals in the capital of São Paulo. To date, there is no forecast for the normalization of operations.
O Viracopos International Airport, in Campinaswas also affected by the interruption in air traffic control. To Jovem Pan, the concessionaire informed that it evaluates the impacts of the stoppage on operations and monitors the situation, pending the normalization of the system.
