The former head of the government’s Social Communication Secretariat (PL) and former PL advisor Fabio Wajngarten is working to defend the former banker, through his company, WF Comunicação.
Documents sent by the Federal Revenue Service to the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on Organized Crime of the Senate indicate that WF Comunicação received at least R$3.8 million from Master in 2025. There is no data for 2026.
Wajngarten claims to have been hired by the bank in the first half of last year on the recommendation of Vorcaro’s lawyers. He says that, since then, he has worked directly with the defense, participating in meetings in which the Master’s owner’s communication strategies are discussed.
“The contract has confidentiality clauses, which is why it cannot be publicized. Furthermore, I am no longer politically exposed, as I left any public position more than five years ago,” he said in a statement.
Bolsonaro’s former secretary did not say who nominated him for Vorcaro in the first half of 2025. Several lawyers defended the former banker over the last year, including Walfrido Warde, Pierpaolo Bottini, Roberto Podval and Sérgio Leonardo. Currently, the defense of the former banker is carried out by Leonardo and José Luis Oliveira Lima, known as Juca.
Now imprisoned at the Federal Police Superintendence, in Brasília, Vorcaro is negotiating a plea bargain agreement. He was arrested for the first time last November, when the Federal Police and the Federal Public Ministry launched Operation Compliance Zero, and the Central Bank decreed the liquidation of Banco Master.
Bolsonaro’s right-hand man, Wajngarten moves between politicians and media outlets and has managed Master’s image crisis.
Former head of the Secretariat of Social Communication and former number two at the Ministry of Communications, he became one of the main exponents of Bolsonarism. He served as a direct advisor to the former president on press matters.
