Maroš Kramár couldn’t keep up on the live broadcast of the Sun in the network! A harsh message to STVR and the government: They could be ashamed!

The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) announced on Thursday in Bratislava the winners of the national film award Sun in the Network for the year 2025. While the nominations reflected the predominance of one film, in the end it was a very balanced battle between three films from last year – Potopa, Otec and Nepela.

Awarding of national film awards Sun in the network had to do without TV cameras for the second year in a row. Slovak Television (STVR) decided once again not to include the gala evening in its broadcast. Viewers could still watch the live stream via YouTube.

He took care of one of the most striking moments actor Maroš Kramár, who was the last to present the best film in the category he gave an extremely open speech. “In the world, actors express themselves about politics, so I think we could also express ourselves without shame,” he noted before the nominations were announced.

Subsequently, he highlighted personalities who successfully represent Slovakia abroad – from scientists and athletes to filmmakerswhose works collect international awards. It was in this connection that he did not like that STVR, as an institution paid from public resources, ignored the national awards.

For this reason, he addressed harsh words to the leadership led by Martina Flašíka, as well as government representatives. “Our Slovak public should know about the people who make these films. And for that we have our Slovak public television. Not only did it not broadcast in the evening like last year, but also in the recording, this year she decided not to even photograph it for future generations. And that is a great shame. I think they could be ashamed. Not only in our television, but also those above them. The Ministry of Culture and our entire government outfit,” he said emotionally in his entrance, making it clear that he won’t be appearing on public television screens anytime soon.
