The salary of a member of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic will remain the same in 2026 and subsequently in 2027 as last year. As part of the consolidation measures, the parliament last year froze the amount of the MP’s salary. They will thus continue to earn almost 6,900 euros, and deputies who live outside the Bratislava region receive a total of over 7,300 euros. The amount of the deputy’s salary is published on the website of the NR SR. The salary of a member of parliament is determined by the Act on Salaries of Certain Constitutional Officials of the Slovak Republic.
According to the law, the MP is entitled to a salary in the amount of three times the average monthly salary for the previous year. In 2025, it was set at 4115 euros. They also belong to the salary lump-sum allowances, their amount varies depending on whether the deputy is from the Bratislava region or from another.
If he is from the Bratislava region, he still receives 2,744 euros per month, a member of parliament from another region has flat-rate compensation in the amount of 3,201 euros. These amounts were also determined in 2025. For the remuneration of the assistant and expenses for the operation of the parliamentary office from April 1, 2025, the deputy has another 4,115 euros allocated.
Within the framework of the law, the new provision applies, according to which in the years 2026 and 2027, the MP is entitled to a salary and flat-rate compensation in the amount determined in 2025. Expenses related to the activities of the deputy’s office and the remuneration of assistants remained at the same level. The measure does not yet apply to other constitutional officials, whose salary is determined by a special mechanism.
The Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the Parliament and also the Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the Committees they also receive functional allowances in addition to their salary, which are unchanged. The chairman of the NR SR has a functional allowance in the amount of 497.91 euros, the vice-chairman of the NR SR 331.94 euros, the committee chairman 165.97 euros and the deputy chairman of the NR SR committee 82.99 euros.
