Is Lebanon the biggest loser of the war in the Middle East?

The temporary ceasefire agreement between Iran, the United States and Israel shows increasingly clear signs that it may collapse. One of the main points of tension at the moment is Israel’s decision to continue bombing Hezbollah in Lebanon.

There is an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty for the negotiations on Saturday (11) between the USA and Iran. This is because Iran insists that Israel must stop the attacks in Lebanon, pointing out that this is part of the agreement to suspend fighting.

Furthermore, the main Iranian negotiator highlighted that there is “goodwill” from Tehran, but that he does not trust the US.

Israel and the United States claim that the conflict in Lebanon is not part of the agreement. Israeli forces carried out the biggest attacks on the neighboring country since the start of the war this week, killing more than 350 people.

Lebanon and Israel agreed to hold a meeting on Tuesday (14), at the headquarters of the United States Department of State, to discuss the announcement of a possible ceasefire, the Lebanese presidency announced on social media this Friday (10).

The meeting will also be used for authorities to discuss the start date of negotiations between the two countries.
