Wings aligned with the government have worked with the party president, so that he can open a channel with the Palácio do Planalto. The movement is led by the Minister of Mines and Energy, one of the party’s main Lulistas.
The assessment is that the (Republicans) opened space for an internal dispute over the party’s direction.
Last Thursday (9), Silveira and Kassab spoke during the Latam Energy Week event, according to sources who were at the scene.
The minister insisted that Kassab maintain dialogue with the former minister (Finance) and consider supporting Lula, at least in a possible second round.
Kassab announced that, even outside the São Paulo government, he supports the re-election of Tarcísio, who should contest the government with Haddad ().
Nationally, the chief gives it as a third way. He allowed party leaders, however, to declare support for other candidates.
