When it comes to refugee policy, things will get serious on Tuesday. At 11 a.m., the Internal Affairs Committee will meet in Local 5 of the Parliament in Vienna to decide on the legal implementation of the necessary adjustments as part of the EU Asylum Pact – the reform will then come to the plenary session a few weeks later. Specifically, the comprehensive changes to Austrian laws that are necessary as a result of the ten new regulations that come into force across the Union on June 12th will be discussed on Tuesday. An application from the FPÖ, which fundamentally rejects EU reforms in the area of asylum and migration, is also planned.
