In response to criticism from Trump, who said the pope would be “terrible at foreign policy”the pontiff stated that he is not a politician. “We are not looking to do foreign policy, as he calls it, with the same perspective that he can understand,” he said.
The pope added that he does not intend to enter into debates with the president and that his message “it was always the same”: promote peace.
