Booking.com suffers hacker attack with access to customer data

The accommodation booking platform confirmed, this Monday (April 13, 2026), that it was the target of a cyber attack in which hackers accessed customer reservation information. The company detected the suspicious activity and implemented containment measures.

The company did not reveal how many people were affected by the breach. In a note sent to Poder360the company stated that it is committed to the security and protection of customer data.

Booking.com has more than 30 million accommodation establishments around the world. The platform declared that “noticed some suspicious activity involving unauthorized third parties being able to access some of the booking information”.

In the statement, he stated: “As soon as we became aware of the situation, we acted quickly to contain the issue. We updated the PIN numbers for these reservations and informed travelers. It is also important to clarify that residential addresses were not exposed”.

According to a report from the company sent emails to affected customers informing them of access to “certain information” associated with previous reservations. A spokesperson told the British newspaper that “financial information was not accessed”.
