Vienna/Jerusalem – The Foreign Policy Committee in Parliament has clearly condemned the expansion of the death penalty in Israel. The joint motion for a resolution by the government parties and the Greens reaffirmed “Austria’s clear stance against the death penalty and for compliance with international human rights standards,” said the SPÖ’s chairwoman and foreign policy spokeswoman, Petra Bayr, on Tuesday.
