After maneuver by Lula and Alcolumbre, Organized Crime CPI rejects final report

Six senators voted against and four in favor of the text that called for impeachment of STF ministers

The Senate Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) on Organized Crime rejected this Tuesday (14) the final report presented by senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE). There were six votes against and four in favor of the text that called for impeachment of the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli and Gilmar Mendes.

The rejection of the report came after the head of the Executive, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), and the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP). The articulation resulted in the exchange of senators Sergio Moro (PL-PR) and Marcos do Val (Avante) by Teresa Leitão (PT-PE) and Beto Faro (PT-PA). The CPI was formed by 11 sitting parliamentarians, of whom ten voted, and seven substitutes.

Organized Crime CPI

Installed on November 4, 2025, the CPI investigated the activities, expansion and functioning of criminal organizations in Brazilian territory, especially factions and militias. The collegiate investigated the modus operandi, operations in each region and their structures in order to identify suitable solutions to combat, mainly through improvement of current legislation.
