The Prime Minister announced support of 30 million euros for transport and merchandise companies. In this Wednesday’s fortnightly debate, Luís Montenegro also assured that the government is “idealizing” alternative measures to reducing VAT on the basic food basket. He considers that setting VAT to zero does not produce the intended effect.
This time, André Ventura brought photos to illustrate the increase in the cost of living. He compared the Portuguese reality to the Spanish reality, a country led by a socialist government.
Anticipating criticism from the opposition, the prime minister took advantage of the fortnightly debate to announce measures that will be approved this Thursday, in the Council of Ministers.
He also announced a request for authorization from the European Commission so that the State can reinforce fuel discounts.
