For top Slovak skier Petra Vlhová (30), the year 2024 was full of difficult life trials. During the first round of the giant slalom of the home World Cup in Jasna on January 20, she fell and tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee. In November, she announced the breakup with her longtime partner Michal Kyselic on the social network. For the website, the businessman revealed what he was going through after their breakup.
They announced the breakup to fans on the social network. “Despite the fact that we have protected our privacy as much as possible for five years, we would like to publicly announce something that is not easy for either of us to write, and it is even more difficult to find the right words, but it has been a few weeks that we have not been a couple.” said Petra with a photo of her leaning on an ex-partner.
Kyselica has now decided to take a big step in his life. For many years, his chest was decorated with a tattoo depicting the Tatras. Some time ago, he boasted on the social network that he had this tattoo removed. “I got it around the age of eighteen, during the period when I was actively playing football and was strongly connected to that world. That tattoo has always meant something to me. It mainly symbolized the relationship with Slovakia, which I sincerely like,” he elaborated.
With the advent of new technologies, he decided to say goodbye to tattooing after fifteen years. However, it is not entirely simple. “The only thing I would ‘regret’ is the removal process itself, which is extremely painful. I have sessions about every three months, I’ve had three so far and I estimate I have four to five more to go. It could be another year to a year and a half, depending on how the body reacts to it.” he continued.
Kyselica did not have only one tattoo removed. “I recently read the idea that people get tattoos because of trauma. For me personally, it was more moments, memories and periods that I wanted to keep. Today it is a closed chapter for me. Without regret, but with respect for what it once meant,” he reflected on his decisions. The question remains, whether the removal of tattoos is related to the breakup with Vlhová.
Apparently, there is no bad blood between the former partners. During the Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, where Vlhová performed, Kyselica sent her a public message on the social network. “Congratulations to the boss and the legend on the return. What you went through deserves nothing but respect and admiration. I’m glad that I finally saw you at the Olympics. And I wish Slovakia had more people like you,” wrote.
