A 62-year-old suspect was preventively detained in Ibirapitanga, in the south of the state; he had already been responsible for another case of abuse against a teenager since 2024
A 62-year-old man was preventively arrested on Tuesday afternoon (14), in Ibirapitanga, in the south of Bahia, for the crime of rape of vulnerable against a 11 year old child. The arrest took place after victim’s sister discover abuses read the diary of the girl and alert the family about the case.
According to the Civil Police, as soon as the parents became aware of the reports written by the child, the Municipal Guardianship Council was called. The agency’s intervention allowed the formalization of the complaint and began investigations carried out by the Territorial Police Station (DT/Ibirapitanga) to locate the suspect.
The request for preventive detention, issued by the local court, was reinforced by the history of the investigated. According to the police, the man has been responding, since 2024, to a similar crime charge for allegedly having abused by a 13 year old girl. The corporation points out that the evidence that he continued to commit the same type of crime was fundamental for the arrest warrant to be issued.
After being located by police teams, the man was taken to the police station, where he underwent medical examinations and gave a statement. He remains detained and in custody.
