According to the decision, the former BRB director played a central role in facilitating the acquisition of portfolios considered fraudulent by the investigation involving Banco Master.

The PF identified that the former president of BRB Paulo Henrique Costa negotiated with Daniel Vorcaro to receive six high-end propertiesvalued at R$ 146.5 millionlocated in São Paulo and no Federal District.

The information appears in the minister’s decision André Mendonçado Federal Supreme Court (STF)which

According to the decision, the former BRB director played a central role in making the acquisition of portfolios considered fraudulent by the investigation involving Banco Master. In return, he would have received undue advantages through the transfer of high-value properties. The elements were gathered during an investigation by the Federal Police and are also represented by the MPF (Federal Public Ministry).

The Public Ministry also highlights that part of these values, around R$74.6 million was paid. “Paulo Henrique Costa received an undue advantage consisting of six high-end properties in São Paulo and Brasília, valued at R$ 146,582,649.50, of which R$ 74,604,932.47 would have already been effectively paid”, pointed out the decision.

Still in the decision, the minister also points out lawyer Daniel Lopes Monteiro as a key player in the legal structure of the scheme, responsible for formalizing operations between institutions and, according to the investigation, hide the real beneficiaries of real estate acquisitions. He would also have obtained his own economic benefit in excess of R$86 million.

“The Public Ministry points to its role as a key agent in the legal aspect of the criminal structure, especially in the formalization of operations between Master, Tirreno and BRB and in the concealment of the real beneficiary of real estate acquisitions, with an indication, in principle, of its own economic benefit of at least R$ 86,167,189.30”, stated the document.

Exchange of messages and alignment of interests

At the same time, the WhatsApp messages obtained by the investigation and cited in the decision reveal a close relationship between Paulo Henrique and Daniel Vorcaro, marked by alignment of interests and joint action.

According to the document, while dealing with measures and business within the bank that would benefit the businessman, Paulo Henrique also articulated his wife’s visit to a high-end apartment.

“Friend, with each step the path is clearer and I’m more excited about what we’re going to build. Furthermore, I really value personal alignment. And I think we’re well aligned in terms of work, worldview and profile,” Costa wrote to Vorcaro.

In response, the businessman demonstrates harmony. “Speak, friend, great, too I’m excited. I will align everything with Daniel. I will give you someone who will show you the apartment”, he stated.

Other conversations reinforce the existence of negotiations involving real estate. In one of the exchanges, Paulo Henrique demands progress in the release of assets that, according to the investigation, would be transferred through legal entities. “Friend, everyone is waiting for your agreement on properties in São Paulo. Can you help?”, he asks. Vorcaro responds that he gave “carte blanche” and asks for details about where the obstacle would be.

Afterwards, Paulo Henrique indicates that he continues to press to unlock the process and suggests that it is fulfilling its end of the bargain. “Sorry for the trouble. I’m focused on the agenda we agreed on and I stay on top of all matters until they are resolved”, he wrote. Vorcaro minimizes the charge by saying that “this is not work”.
