After witnessing the incident, the police shot Allan Santos Pereira, who tried to wear a bulletproof vest.
Suspect Allan Santos Pereira was shot by military police after officers witnessed an attempted robbery near the Vila Sônia subway, in the west zone of São Paulo. Pereira wore a bulletproof vest and rescue was called. He was taken to University Hospital where he underwent surgery and remains under escort.
The police were parked on the road when they saw the robbery on Avenida Eliseu de Almeida carried out by two individuals, on two motorcycles, on an Onix vehicle that was stopped in traffic and intervened in the action.
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), one of the suspects was shot after pointing a gun at the agents. The accomplice fled. The motorcycle used was stolen and had a tampered license plate.
According to a statement from the PM, the suspect tried to escape but was hit. “In the face of the imminent threat, there was a confrontation where the offender escaped on his motorcycle but was shot meters ahead,” he declared.
After the action, a 38 caliber revolver with 4 rounds of ammunition and belongings from previous robberies (including 3 rings and an iPhone cell phone) were found with the suspect.
The PM also reported that the location was preserved and the incident was forwarded to 89DP for consideration by the authority. The case was registered as theft, receiving, tampering with a motor vehicle identification sign and vehicle location/seizure.
Investigations are ongoing by the Civil and Military Police to identify and locate the second person involved and clarify the facts.
