New round of layoffs in the administrative area targets functional inconsistencies; Ricardo Couto’s management estimates annual savings of R$30 million
The management of the interim governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro and licensed president of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, judge Ricardo Couto, informed the dismissal of another 94 servers linked to the administrative area. Considering the 544 dismissals that had already been formalized, the total number of employees dismissed in the Government and Civil House Secretariats rose to 638.
The interim government estimates that the annual savings accumulated in the Government Secretariat (Segov) is approximately R$30 millionwith around R$8 million annually saved in this last cut alone.
“The measures are part of the set of ongoing audits in the State Government, which foresees the review of administrative structures and contracts, with a focus on improving management and the responsible use of public resources”, informed Segov, in a note.
The new round of layoffs was published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette on Monday (20).
“The measure continues the structural review process conducted by the administration of interim governor Ricardo Couto, with a focus on rationalizing expenses and increasing the efficiency of the public machine”, explained the secretariat. “As in the previous stages, the survey identified functional inconsistencies in the cases analyzed, such as the lack of access records to internal systems and the lack of institutional accreditation, which led to the dismissals.”
