The new cycle path in Ružomberok has become the target of ridicule and indignation on social networks. Residents were shocked after the bicycle route was marked, and many considered it a belated April Fool’s joke. Instead of a smooth and safe ride, they were waiting for them crooked lines, damaged surface with bumps and especially public lighting poles that dangerously interfere directly with the cycling lane, she noticed in the report.
The city management itself admitted that it was just as unpleasantly surprised as the public by the state of the new signage. City spokesman Vladimír Miškovčík confirmed that the citizens’ criticism is fully justified. The town hall has already managed to react and demands immediate rectification from the contractor. The failed 400-meter section that leads to the railway and bus station will therefore have to undergo modifications to meet basic safety standards.
Miskovčík explained that although the project was developed by an authorized designer and went through the approval process of all authorities, it was put into practice with serious deficiencies. At the same time, the controversial section is part of a wider, up to four kilometer cycle route project, which is supposed to connect the Klačno housing estate with the station. The town hall apologized for the situation and believes that after the elimination of this error, the new infrastructure will serve the residents of the city safely and reasonably.
Former Slovak football representative Erik Jendrišek (39) was also outraged by this city “failure”. “The city of miracles. It’s enough that there’s nothing here except the factory, we’re still bringing shame to the world,” responded on his . During his football career, Jendrišek visited different corners of the world, but he left the biggest mark in Germany. After excellent performances in MFK Ružomberok, he was noticed by Hannover, from there he went to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Schalke 04, SC Freiburg and Energie Cottbus.
Then he returned to Slovakia, played for Spartak Trnava, from there he went to Krakow in Poland, Xanthi in Greece and Volos. Then he worked again in Slovakia in Nitra, AS Trenčín and most recently in Liptovský Mikuláš. Today he is a player TJ Družstevník Liptovská Štiavnica and also figures in the selection of the Slovak national team in indoor soccer.
