A container ship near the Strait of Hormuz was attacked by Iranian military personnel in the early hours of Wednesday (22), according to the United Kingdom Maritime Traffic Organization (UKMTO). The incident occurred 15 nautical miles northeast of Oman.
The ship was boarded by an Iranian Islamic State (IRGC), who did not issue any radio warning before “firing at the vessel”, and fired upon, the maritime authority said. The attack caused “severe damage to the bridge”, the UKMTO added.
The crew reported being safe, with no fires or environmental impacts. The report did not provide additional details about the ship, such as its flag country or its current location.
The most recent attack comes in the last few days. Last Saturday, New Delhi reported that two Indian-flagged vessels were fired upon while sailing through the strait.

And via marítimathrough which almost a fifth of the world’s oil and gas passes.
After the failure of the negotiation attempt, with the aim of ending the war between the USA and Iran, President Donald Trump announced that American forces including the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran threatened to cross the strait and retaliate against the ports of its Gulf neighbors, following the announcement of the American blockade.
About that, with the US-Israeli bombing campaign against Tehran suspended.
