Minor was chased after robbery on the shore and restrained by witnesses before GCM arrived
The Municipal Civil Guard apprehended, on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), a 14-year-old teenager for stealing a cell phone in , on the coast of São Paulo. The case was registered on Avenida Presidente Castelo Branco, in the Aviation neighborhood. Bathers chased the minor and attacked him before authorities arrived.
According to reports, the victim was on the beach when the teenager passed by on a bicycle, pulled out the device and fled. Witnesses who witnessed the action ran after the author and managed to stop him.

Images recorded by people at the scene show the teenager lying on the sand while being attacked. He remained immobilized until the arrival of the Municipal Civil Guard.
The cell phone was recovered and returned to the victim. The minor was taken to the Judiciary Police Center, as reported by the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat.
No legal guardian attended the incident. He was under the responsibility of the Guardianship Council. The case was registered as theft.
