The Federal Government authorized the appointment of over 1,000 successful candidates in the public examination for police careers at the Federal Police (PF)carried out in 2025. The measure, formalized by Decree No. 12,943 and signed by President Lula, was published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union on Wednesday (22).
The decision practically doubles the number of vacancies originally foreseen in the notice. With the new authorization, the PF will be able to call up up to 2,000 new police officers in total, including the initial vacancies for the competition.
Currently, more than 600 successful candidates for the position of Federal Police agent are already undergoing training at the National Police Academy (ANP). With the decree, the corporation will be able to call up to 1,370 new employees this year, distributed as follows:
- Federal Police Chief: 61 vacancies
- Federal Criminal Expert: 38 vacancies
- Federal Police Agent: 705 vacancies
- Federal Police Clerk: 176 vacancies
- Federal Police Papilloscopist: 20 vacancies
In addition to the immediate summons, the government made a commitment to authorize the filling of all vacant positions in police careers in second half of 2026. This measure will allow the formation of the fourth class at the ANP, scheduled for the beginning of 2027, and will guarantee, for the first time in history, that all police positions in the PF are completely filled.
