Graduated in Administration, and a businesswoman for more than a decade, Rita Évora dos Santos transformed her learning into an exclusive mentoring program for women, focused on systemic finance. An approach that develops from the understanding that “money is emotion”, as shared in this episode of “O Tal Podcast”, in which he highlights the importance of family beliefs and patterns in the relationship with the financial area, and shares how Cape Verde gave him back his smile

Every penny counts, so even the smallest coin should be valued, argues Rita Évora dos Santos. “I didn’t come from a place with money, I had to earn it. And today I respect every penny. If I see a penny, I take it”, says this week’s guest by Georgina Angélica and Paula Cardoso.

Daughter of a cleaning lady and a bricklayer, the manager says she learned the sense of sacrifice from her parents.

“I will do whatever I have to do to stay intact”, he guarantees, giving as an example the way he conducts his business.

“I have an accommodation management company, but our core is also cleaning. If I have to clean an apartment, I’m the first one.”

In addition to the lessons she brings from her childhood, namely that poverty is not synonymous with indignity, and that the basics are essential, Rita shares how the business experience has been formative.

“We cleaned up our savings to start a business”, he reveals, going back to the beginnings of his business adventure, which began with his ex-partner, more than 10 years ago.

Today a systemic finance mentor, the businesswoman says she had a negative salary account – “So, I often left work at midnight, and at seven in the morning I was cleaning an office” – before finding her savings ‘formula’.

“There are people who make a decent living with what they have, and there are people who are in trouble, because we are influenced by many vices. We live in a world of consumerism.”

Without giving in to the countless purchasing pressures, Rita explains how she became ‘freed’.

“When I finished buying the car, I continued to put [dinheiro] aside. When I rented the house, I had Porta 65, and what they gave me I left aside, as if I were paying the rent in full. And I picked up this habit.”

Based on what she has experienced, the businesswoman intends to support other women in their financial management. “When I learn about systemic finance, I realize that money is emotion,” she says, convinced of the importance of maintaining a feminine focus in her work.

“One thing women have is empathy. My mentor, who brought me to systemic finance, says: every woman I meet brings me news about me”, shares the businesswoman in this episode of “O Tal Podcast”, in which she reviews her own emotional reconstructions.

“I came from Cape Verde super in love with myself, because I met a Rita that I hadn’t seen in over 20 years, who smiled just because. My smile was gone and came back.”

The transformation process, reveals the businesswoman, entailed a complete life change.

“I left the relationship I was in, and found myself alone for the first time. At the time I even isolated myself a little, I went through sadness, until I realized that sadness is also good. And I started to hug it, and hug myself.”

More than that, Rita guarantees that she was reborn: “I started to look at myself and like it, realizing that it’s not others who see me. It’s me who has to see myself first. That made me even more beautiful.”
