NGO for trans children says Rosangela Moro wants to “create confusion”

Deputy criticized the organization “Minha Criança Trans” in the Health committee; ministry informed that committees operate within the legality

A ONG refuted the federal deputy’s statements (União Brasil-SP) about the entity’s participation in a Ministry of Health committee focused on the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. In a video on social media, published on Wednesday (April 22, 2026), the congresswoman classified the organization’s presence in the government as “illegal“.

In the text, the NGO states that there is no illegality in its activities and that its actions are guided by Brazilian legislation and human rights. The organization clarifies that there are no records of gender reassignment surgeries performed on children in Brazil and denies any support, encouragement or articulation in this regard. According to the entity, the deputy’s narrative seeks to generate confusion and misinformation in society. “We deeply regret the circulation of content that promotes social terrorism, moral panic and disinformation, often using sensationalist and appealing language”says the note, stating that the material reveals “electoral intentions”.

The NGO expressed solidarity with its founder, Thamirys Nunes, mentioned in the congresswoman’s video, and informed that its legal department was called to take “appropriate measures in the face of propagated untruths”.

WHAT ROSANGELA MORO SAID

In the video published on her Instagram profile, Rosangela Moro questioned the performance of the Ministry of Health committee and the possibility of the entity having a voice in the formulation of public policies for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The deputy defends that decisions related to gender transition procedures only occur at the age of majority and criticized the agenda.

“We cannot allow, within a public space, space to be given to things that are illegal.
