Left-wing deputies criticized, behind the scenes, the creation of the Working Group that will discuss the misogyny PL and say that the strategy aims to bury the proposal.
After pressure from government members, the president of the Chamber, (-PB), announced the creation of the GT this Thursday (23). The person who will coordinate the group is Congresswoman Tabata Amaral (-SP).
Government officials claim, however, that Motta’s decision is to “push the agenda forward” and try to calm social pressure for the agenda.
A deputy said, with reservations, that if the mayor wanted to move forward with the issue, he would put the proposal on an urgent basis and take the matter to the college of leaders.
Motta has not given in to pressure. Deputies took to social media to mobilize against the text.
The misogyny PL seeks to criminalize hate speech against women on social media. and received criticism from Bolsonarists when he arrived at the Chamber.
