Fines for toll evasion are suspended until November

The federal government decided suspend the application of fines for non-payment in the electronic toll system (free flow) from this Tuesday (28) until November 16th.

The measure is part of the measures, announced this Tuesday (28), which already allowed previous electronic toll fines to be suspended until November so that drivers can regularize payment.

Therefore, Drivers who pass through the gantries without paying the fare within the deadline will not be fined during that period. The toll charge remains valid and the amount must be paid by the driver, but the application of fines and points on the license will remain suspended until the end of the established period.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the initiative seeks to give users more time to adapt to the model and correct gaps in communication about how the system works.

From November onwards, penalties will normally be applied again for those who do not pay their debts.
