The advancement of population aging and the greater demand for digital solutions in mental health have opened space for specialized healthtechs to gain traction in markets such as Brazil. This is the case of the Spanish NeuronUP, present in 75 countries, which wants to transform Brazil into one of its main expansion bets.
The startup, which develops a neurorehabilitation and cognitive stimulation platform, plans to double its global revenue in 2026, repeating the 100% growth recorded last year, when it reached €3 million in revenue. The strategy involves reinforcing the Brazilian operation, where the company already has more than 300 customers and wants to expand its presence beyond the large centers.
Structured around a year ago, the company’s operation in Brazil already brings together institutions such as Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and Rede Sarah units. According to Theodore Kaelin Fiorderize, Country Sales Manager at NeuronUP for Brazil and Portugal, the strategy is to expand without concentrating efforts in a single state. “We really want to dominate the whole of Brazil, of course, little by little, to arrive in a consolidated way”, he says, in an interview with Startups.

Founded 15 years ago in the La Rioja region, Spain, NeuronUP has surpassed the 200,000 user mark and is present in more than 3,500 establishments, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, offices and elderly care institutions.
How it works
NeuronUP operates as a cloud platform that brings together therapeutic activities, assessment tools and clinical monitoring, allowing professionals to concentrate different stages of care in a single digital environment. The solution is used by neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other specialists.
One of the focuses of the expansion is the launch of NeuronUP Evaluation, a vertical that incorporates neuropsychological tests and batteries into the platform. The proposal is to integrate the initial assessment into the patient’s rehabilitation and monitoring process. “The professional carries out the assessment and directs you to rehabilitation within the same environment”, explains Theodore.
The company has also been investing in artificial intelligence to expand the personalization of treatments. According to the executive, the technology is used to organize data, support analysis and suggest interventions according to the patient’s performance. “The AI will already create an attention session for him to start stimulating himself”, he says, when explaining how the tool can automate recommendations for professionals.
Today, the startup claims to have more than 7,000 professionals using its platform globally, with around 5 million activities carried out per month. In addition to serving hospitals and clinics, the company operates in a B2B model for independent professionals, with revenue based on annual subscriptions.
Growth in Brazil
Growth in Brazil should also be supported by the recent launch of new products and geographic expansion. According to Theodore, the local goal follows the global ambition of repeating last year’s expansion. “We want to double our revenue again”, he points out.

This advance is also supported by resources raised in a €10 million round, raised with Spanish venture capital fund Moira Venture, concluded around a year ago. The capital has been used to accelerate international expansion, including Brazil, Portugal and Latin American markets.
Although it works in cases linked to Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and ADHD, the company says that its model is not focused on diseases, but on cognitive functions and areas of intervention, such as memory, attention and executive functions, which allows for more personalized treatments.
According to Theodore, this positioning also responds to a structural change in the market. “There is a huge demand within Brazil for cognitive care”, he observes, citing the aging of the population as one of the factors behind the expansion strategy in the country.

“Today we do not have a direct competitor in Brazil with a solution as complete as ours. There are companies that offer parts of the process, but not a platform that brings together assessment, rehabilitation, cognitive stimulation and continuity of care in one place. This has attracted diverse clients, from large institutions to specialized professionals, universities and nursing homes. In addition to centralizing demands, the platform helps to reduce the time that the neuropsychologist spends preparing activities and operational tasks, allowing him to focus more on patient care”, he concludes.
