Strasbourg – The European Parliament has called for a uniform EU-wide definition of rape based on the principle “Only yes means yes”. A majority of MPs voted in Strasbourg on Tuesday for a corresponding position paper with which they called on the EU Commission and the 27 member states to act. In several EU countries, including Austria, violence is still a prerequisite for a rape conviction.
