Leila Pereira formalizes adherence to the adjustment of R$ 150 million to the rubro-negro, despite criticism of the revenue division
The president of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, signed this Thursday (April 30, 2026) a financial agreement between Libra (Brazilian Football League) and Flamengo, even after internal criticism of the adopted model. According to the journalist, from São Paulo, the São Paulo club was against the agreement that establishes the transfer of R$ 150 million to Flamengo until 2029. Even so, the director chose to formalize the membership so as not to harm the other members of Libra. Internally, the assessment is that the block moved away from the initial objective of enabling a single league and started to act mainly as a hub for negotiating broadcasting rights.
When contacted, Palmeiras said it would not comment.
According to the journalist, from , the understanding between Libra and Flamengo establishes the payment of annual installments of R$ 37.5 million, corrected by the IPCA from 2027 onwards. The amount will be deducted from the slice allocated to the audience within the 40-30-30 division model — 40% equal, 30% by performance and 30% by audience.
The agreement also defined the weight of platforms in the contract with TV Globo: 60% for open TV, 5% for closed TV and 35% for pay-per-view. The lack of this definition had been one of the points that led Flamengo to question the distribution of revenues in court, a dispute that resulted in the values being blocked and subsequent negotiation in arbitration.
EXIT IS ON THE AGENDA
Despite the signature, the movement does not end the impasse. Palmeiras understands that, if there is no relevant contractual impact, the trend is still . The club, however, does not consider a migration to the FFU group automatic (Futebol Forte União). The assessment is that the construction of a single league, discussed in meetings with the CBF, has become the most viable path to reorganizing the Brasileirão.
The impasse comes at a time of attempts to unify Brazilian football.
